The next card advertises "The Sands" hotel in Las Vegas NV. Text on the back claims "A Place In The Sun" (also visible on photo, near the logo!).
In the fifties celebrities like Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin performed in "The Sands". In the final years business gradually went down. In June 1996, after almost 50 years of operation, it finally closed its doors forever.
The Sands is a great hotel created in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. This magnificent structure was created by a leading designer who has achieved an architectural blend of modern beauty and design which will remain unsurpassed for years to come.
The Western Sands Hotel - Wichita Falls TX
The Sands hotel! A surprising find, this clone of the hotel with the same name, but located in Texas. It shows a very similar entrance sign, but the columns are much smaller than that of the 'original' hotel. This one is located in Wichita Falls, TX. An Oldsmobile parked on the left, a stylish station wagon under the roof (barely visible) and a Chevrolet on the right. Turquoise became popular in the fifties! - Handwriting on the backside reveals that a man wrote it to his sister in Minnesota MN in 1962.
