Vintage Oldsmobile Auto Graphics and Ads 1940 - 1960
Colorful Buick Ad / Thunderbird, Las Vegas / '51 Olds
A colorful Buick ad from 1946 has joined the collection of wallpaper scans. As always, this is high quality scan. Scanning and editing of these big ads take me sometimes a few hours, but as you see the quality is worth it. - Also we can follow the history of the Thunderbird Motel on two new post cards of Las Vegas NV. And finally a rare card featuring a 1951 Olds Holiday.
Woodie on a Ferry and a Trip to Fresno CA
A colorfully mixed update this time: Cars on a ferry on Norfolk Lake in the Ozarks. A closer look reveals that the woodie is a very
special car, having been stretched. - Another card from Fresno CA shows cars from the twenties (on the right) together with more 'modern' prewar cars from the 1940's. All this on a color chrome card!
I also present scenery from Irving NY, cars in the shade of big trees in the mid fifties. Finally a bus stop, shot in Greyhound Key FL in 1951. According to roadside architecture expert Debra Jane Seltzer that place was renamed to 'Fiesta Key' in 1966. It shows a stylish Greyhound bus waiting for passengers.

Merry X-Mas and a Happy New Year 2007 !
The year 2006 passed quickly and soon we will celebrate Xmas. Wish everyone happy holidays! Hope you are not stuck at Denver airport or in a snow storm. Our update is not about snow: A 1954 Buick ad on Vintageads. Also three new postcards with summer motives: Bakersfield CA, Texarkana TX and Miami Beach in the 50's.
Buick Ads and a Visit in Monroeville PA
Two new Buick ads on sister site Vintageads. In 1946/47 Buick published a few very impressive, big b/w ads (Olds never had this layout). - A new card shows the Monroeville PA shopping center that was already featured before.
oldsads.org Becomes a Drupal Site ...
Today I could finally switch the complete site to the Drupal Content Management System (CMS). You're interested about technology? Drupal is Open Source software that helps me to manage and update this site. The installation was actually simple, the migration took me a few days. No major problems, though. Thank you guys, at Drupal. There are already hundreds of Drupal driven sites out there, and you will profit from additional functionality soon.
Logins also moved from Yahoo to my site. Not much will change for you: If there are any updates, you will receive an email as usual. I also moved all account names to oldsads.org, so you can log in here.

Ted Hustead and The "Icewater Store" in Wall SD
The four cards on the right show the history of the famous "Icewater Store" in Wall, SD. Founded in the thirties, the business started to thrive, when the owners had the idea to attract customers with free ice water. Read the interesting history!
One more colorful DeSoto ad from 1954 you find on my sister site vintageads.oldsads.org.

Merry X-Mas and a Happy New Year 2006 !
This year will be ending soon, one last update in 2005: I've added three more ads, a 1948, '49 and 1950 Olds. Furthermore two great winter postcards, showing the ski resort Big Bear Lake, the other one the Mount Glazier National Park with the famous red buses.
