About Me

  • Born in Vienna/Austria
  • Have a degree (BA) in machine engineering from the Technical University of Vienna
  • Moved to Switzerland in 1989 where I currently still live
  • (Before 2004 I also lived in Stuttgart, Germany)
  • Worked for various companies in Germany and Switzerland (machine engineering and IT)
  • Have a strong inclination to American history and (obviously) the Forties and Fifties (vintage cars, Film Noir, design, pinups etc.)
  • I love Route 66.
Important to mention the icon of Route 66, the "Mother of the Mother Road", Lucille Hamons! - She unfortunately passed away some time ago and her pages are gone too.
  • I started this site in 1998 and it is still fun for me to add things and - probably - for viewers to read and find memories of the past.
  • I also founded the Matador site matador.tc. Matador is a toy set from Austria with a long history.
  • I am an avid fan of KFC and its founder Colonel Sander.
  • I am a fan of Flickr where I sometimes upload my photos.
  • I am basically not so excited to write about myself. So allow me to postpone writing more for now :-)
